This is project three of seven in this Graphic Design 1 course. This was probably one of my favorite projects to complete. This project utilized some advanced techniques in Adobe Illustrator while establishing layers. The project concluded with the creation of my very own designed Emojis, with the question, “How Do You Like Your Toast?”.
Emoji Sketches
The theme I created was “Toast“.
I chose toast, because there is so many ways to make toast; and some people like their toast anywhere from light to dark.
I highlighted first, 5 ranges of toast color after put into the toaster; that’s numbers 1-5. Then, I tried to show ways that people may like to eat toast; that’s numbers 6-9, 13-15. Lastly, I tried to make some a little funny with numbers 10-12.
I plan use the shape tool for many of them, gradient tool to show the toasted portions of the toast, and adding color to them.
First Draft
For the final presentation (poster), I plan to add some drop shadows since the toasts are already 3D. I will also try to blend the components of each toast more, especially number 11, because that one just seems so flat.

Final Presentation Guidelines:
- Final poster should be vertical in orientation and 8.5″ x 11″ at 300 dpi
- Typographically designed creative title for the entire poster
- Typographically designed unique individual descriptive labels for each of the 12 vector emojis
- Original background that adds visual interest to the poster
