Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator: Food Truck Project

This was the final project of my Graphic Design 1 course. This project required that I select a type of food from the list provided, research my product, and develop a concept for a brand identity, including logo, menu, truck wrap, t-shirt, and culminating in a final presentation.

Of the list of food items, I chose DONUTS.

Brand Identity Brainstorming

I chose two: Donut Duty; Donut Outpost. I stuck with the military theme from my stamps. So my brand names relate to the military.

I chose three different taglines for me to choose from: (1) Donut Outpost:  Where Every Bite Gives Back. (2) Donut Duty: It’s a veteran’s mission. (3) Donut Duty: A mission of appreciate. All of these taglines show how this donut food truck is here to give back to the military community that it came from.

Food Truck: Final Logo & Brand Sheet

Food Truck: Menu First Draft

Menu First Draft:

My font choices for this menu were: Apple Chancery, Bangla MN Bold, Minion Pro, and ScriptoramaMarkdownJF.

Final Menu

I made a lot of revisions based on feedback from classmates and Prof. Klos. I added a light pink border to give the menu a finished look. I made the prices aligned with one another from the classic donuts and down. I changed the font for the main headers of the categories of menu items. I left a 0.25″ border to hopefully prevent any words from getting cut off during printing. I rechecked my spelling and made necessary corrections, and added a slightly smaller purple box at the bottom to give some balance. I also increased the font size of the website address.

Food Truck: T-Shirt

The criteria for the T-shirt are as follows:

  • Design both the front and back for an employee T-Shirt
  • Use only 2 spot colors
  • May incorporate elements from your brand identity such as tagline, color scheme, pattern
  • Use Illustratorto create the T-shirt

Food Truck: Truck Wrap

The criteria for the Truck Wrap are as follows:

  • Design all four sides of the food truck
  • Include Logo, Tagline, color scheme, pattern(s), etc
  • Create the truck wrap in CMYK colorspace
  • Incorporate elements from the brand identity to show the personality of the company
  • Use Illustrator to create the Truck Wrap

Food Truck: Final Presentation

The unique food experience that I highlighted with my Food Truck is that, my food truck is female veteran owned and operation and has a mission of supporting and giving back to the veteran community.
